THINGS TO
DO IN THE BEAUTIFUL NORTHWEST
Portland, Oregon, is one of the most
beautiful cities in the world, sitting on two rivers with a view of
three snowcapped mountains. Its thriving downtown includes a Nordstrom,
Macy's, Powell’s City of Books (the largest new and used bookstore in
America—it’s like going into a library where you can buy books), and
our famous NW 23rd Avenue where you can visit Pati’s store
of Italian dinnerware and accessories,
Mamma Ro’, as well as many unusual boutiques and shops.

River
& Mountain Jaunt
If you want a day trip, drive
through the scenic, waterfall-lined Columbia River Gorge to Hood River.
Have lunch at the Columbia Gorge Hotel, then take the Mt. Hood highway
for the “loop drive,” stopping at historic Timberline Lodge halfway
up Mt. Hood. Enjoy a chairlift ride up the face for a spectacular view.
Drive back to Portland on scenic Highway 26--or go east to Warm Springs
and see the new Native American museum. The whole trip takes a long
day.
See the Incredible
Théâtre de la Mode Exhibit
at Maryhill Museum in the Columbia Gorge.
The miniature mannequins of
Théâtre de la Mode are on display at Maryhill Museum of Art
east of The Dalles on the Columbia River. Visit
their website at
http://www.maryhillmuseum.org/

For the book about this amazing collection, visit our bookstore web
page by clicking the book cover below.

NOTE: If you're
staying at the Monarch Hotel, take advantage of Enterprise
Rent-a-Car's "to the door" delivery of rental cars at rates
better than airport pickup.
Oregon’s
Scenic Coast

The
beautiful and rugged Oregon coast is about 1½ hours away via
Highway 26. Going south along Highway 101 past numerous beach parks and
antique stores, you’ll reach beautiful Tillamook Bay with its cheese
factory and scenic Three Capes road. Return via Highway 6.

THINGS TO
DO IN THE BEAUTIFUL CITY OF PHILADELPHIA
If you have time to tour our beautiful
region before or after the workshop, or if you have a companion with
you who came to tour, there is much to see and do in the
Philadelphia area. Old City is the birthplace of our founding
fathers and home of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Fabric
Row is Philadelphia’s fabric district with wonderful shopping. The
theatre district offers all kinds of cultural events that rivals
NYC. The Art Museum is spectacular inside and out (you can even
stand in Rocky’s “shoes” at the top of the steps!). The Delaware
River is the location of many fine cruises and the Battleship New
Jersey. And did we mention food? No trip to Philly would be
complete without getting a cheese steak sandwich at Geno’s, Pat’s,
or Tony Luke’s!
