IN PORTLAND:
SIGN UP FOR OUR
SHOP ‘TIL YOU DROP
FABRIC STORE TOURS
Spend a day visiting the fabric store capital of the world and let Palmer/Pletsch show you how to shop for a wonderful wardrobe. Possible stores include: The Mill End Store (one of America’s largest fashion fabric stores), Josephine’s Dry Goods (wonderful, high-quality fabrics), The Button Emporium, and Rose City Textiles. Portland has more fabric stores than most any city in the US! All day tour (the day after most workshops) includes tour guide, transportation, and lunch in downtown Portland. $55. Minimum of three people required. Sign up on the registration page

The Mill End Store (above) and Josephine's Dry Goods are favorites as well as the Pendleton Woolen Mill outlet.

NEVER ENOUGH SHOPPING
After spending days at the Fabric Depot and finding lots of beautiful fabrics, some students also add the "Shop 'til You Drop Fabric Store Tour". Here they are at the end of the day! Note Marta's great license plate - SEWFIT!

IN PHILDELPHIA:
VISIT THE GARMENT DISTRICT
IN NEW YORK CITY
This optional program is offered the day following each Philadelphia workshop. New York City is a fabulous place to visit and shop for fabrics, trims, buttons and so much more!  Pamela will be your guide for the day as we travel by Amtrak to the Big Apple to explore Mood (Project Runway’s store), B & J’s (Pamela’s favorite) and other stores in the Garment District. Time permitting, we will also visit Sak’s Fifth Avenue and Barney’s for some high fashion “snoop shopping”.  (A minimum of 4 people is needed to offer the shopping trip.)

$175 includes all transportation including Amtrak and Pamela as your guide for the day. Leave the hotel at 8:30 and return by 8:00. Lunch on your own in NYC

IN PHILDELPHIA:
"MY BEST FIT" BODY SCANNING AT THE KING OF PRUSSIA MALL

mybestfit is a free service that makes it easy to find clothes that fit your unique body. Because there is no sizing standard for apparel manufacturers, from one brand to the next, a shopper can wear different sizes.  Most people have two or three different sizes in their closet (if not more).  mybestfit matches you up to apparel that fits based on your unique and exact body measurements. There is no more guessing what size you wear. mybestfit  is a FREE service that takes about 10 minutes from scan to shopping guide! (Pati Palmer’s husband spent 12 years on the board of directors of this company and Pati acted as a consultant and they have both invested in the company.)

IN PORTLAND:
AN IMAGE EXPERIENCE
WITH ETHEL HARMS

Past students simply rave about their time with Ethel. Have your colors and makeup done by the expert, using her all-new system. She'll provide you with new color choices and information that will update your look and expand your creativity. You'll be more professional and effective. If you had your colors done years ago, and have changed, maybe it's time to be done again!

Groups of up to four (a minimum of two) are scheduled for an evening at Ethel's home (share a cab or carpool from the hotel). The small group is fun as you learn by watching as she drapes each student. You will start to "see" what works and what doesn't.

Based on personal color values and intensity, this new color system recognizes the unique harmony of your hair, skin, and eye colors, and their relationship to all colors. These same colors are then translated into color choices that will enhance, flatter, and compliment your wardrobe. A handpicked color palette is then created using your very best colors.

Ethel will give you your palette during the workshop and show you how to use it to shop for fabrics.

If you can arrive in Portland and have your colors done before the workshop you will have more time to use them. Ethel and/or Pati will shop with you to create an exciting, interesting wardrobe to sew.

Color Analysis price: $150

Call Ethel at (503) 699-5501 or
1-888-699-5501 or e-mail her at eharms@msn.com to schedule and pay directly.

IN PHILDELPHIA:
A PROFESSIONAL BRA FITTING AT {intimacy}:

This renowned store in the King of Prussia Mall is the place to go to get fitted right.  {intimacy} is the lifelong passion of Susan Nethero, and all of her stylists train personally with her.

Here is a small excerpt from their website of “Who We Are”:

At {intimacy}, we practice a proprietary holistic method of fitting that is focused on more than just the right size - we teach women how to wear a bra, how to eliminate back fat, and how to double the life of a bra with proper care.  But most importantly, we show women that the right styles combined with the right fit will provide her comfort, and improve her body image. Once fitted, we introduce the basics of lingerie care and show women how to build their "bra wardrobe" - an {intimacy} concept that not only prolongs the life of each bra, but ensures the right bra for every
WITH TAILORING TEACHER TRAINING, YOU'LL GET AN IMAGE MAKEOVER
& PHOTO SESSION

This Image & Photo Session is included only in the teacher training for the Tailoring Workshop.

Get a professional photo of yourself to use on posters, flyers, or with press releases announcing your business. Ethel Harms, a top image consultant, will do your hair and makeup for the photo.  We will dress and/or accessorize you if necessary. We meet at Pati's home in her photography studio. You get all the photos on a CD so you can print them on flyers or wherever you want to. You can also use them with press releases.

If desired, in the Portland teacher training you can also sign up with Ethel Harms to have your colors done during the photo session (see description at left).

The Image Makeover & Photo Session takes place the day before Fit, Pant Fit, and Beginning Sewing Teacher Training. It's a great pampering day that we don't usually allow ourselves.

NOTE: It can cost $400-500 for a professional makeover with photos, and then you have to purchase prints because the photographer owns the negatives.
