Dear friends,

Welcome to the current issue of Fashion for Real People!

In this issue you will find our latest research on the upcoming trends in fashion & color, plus ideas for adapting the newest looks & accessories to your summer and early fall wardrobe.

Our Editor's Choice section will give you a preview of the fabulous new pattern designs from Palmer/Pletsch.

Our Pattern Picks have been chosen from the Vogue, Butterick & McCall’s pattern books. We have selected one new pattern for each body shape, along with ideas for fabric, color and accessories that will keep you up-to-date. Just refer to our Figure Type Guide on page 12 for the selection that best mirrors your body shape.

We have included some photos of the completed garments fitted to Ethel while filming the new Palmer/Pletsch DVD, Fit for Real People Basics.

Don’t miss the last pages of this newsletter where our 2006 Workshop, Teacher Training & Sewing Vacation schedule is listed. We do hope you will join us in beautiful Portland, Oregon!

All the best,

We welcome your comments and suggestions.
Send an e-mail to Pati.            Send an e-mail to Ethel.

NOTE: For a complete list of all currently available Palmer/Pletsch patterns for McCall's, click here to visit our pattern web page.

Each part of Fashion for Your Figure is a separate Adobe Acrobat pdf (portable document file). Because our pages are filled with fashion photos and illustrations, it may take a while for Adobe Acrobat Reader to bring these pages up on your computer unless you download the files to your hard drive (see instructions at right). We do appreciate your patience, and hope you find the wait worthwhile!

Note:  You do not need Adobe Acrobat  -- just the FREE Acrobat Reader.  The free version available at their web site is version 4.0, even though it doesn't say that on their web page. This newsletter is designed to be ready by version 4. You may have problems if you have an earlier version.

If you already have Acrobat Reader but are getting error messages, you may want to try to reinstall it from their web site. We suggest you uninstall your current version first.

Is the viewing too slow?  Consider downloading the pdf files to your hard drive.  It will be the quickest way to view these documents, but it takes a little planning, and room on your hard drive. Download each file. Different servers will have you follow different instructions.  On a PC you start by right clicking on each of the Parts above.  Some servers have you download "link," others ask if you want to download "target." After they are downloaded go the the directory on your hard drive where you have saved them and click on the files to view the newsletter. Adobe Acrobat Reader will open them.

We suggest doing the download at a time when you can be doing other things, too. It may take a while! But when you finally sit down to look through the issue, it will go quickly from page to page. When you are done, either delete the file, or save it for future reference. We do ask you to remember... this is copyrighted material.
