PRIVACY & TERMS

Pati Palmer's daughter, Melissa Watson, has her own line of patterns at McCalls.

Because Melissa, like her Mom, will be including fitting help in all her patterns, her somewhat edgy designs will be wearable for anyone who is young at heart.

Fashion design is in her blood and is her passion. Since she was four, Melissa has watched her mom collect ideas, sew designs, and present them to McCalls, all the while creating outfits of her own from Pati's box of fabric scraps. She won a blue ribbon at the Oregon State Fair for a quilt she made when she was nine, and a Grand Champion ribbon at ten for one of her paintings, something people told her they'd been trying to achieve all of their lives. Melissa is now focusing that award-winning creativity into these new pattern designs.  (more about Melissa...)

 M6512 Misses' Sheer Spring Blouse

Whether you are a warm weather baby or it is still 20 degrees in May, these two blouses will fit your lifestyle. I love the details on the short sleeve with epaulettes and safari box pleated pockets for a casual look with jeans or to take on a spring vacation.

The long bell sleeve with the tie front is so work chic, but not so business-y that you couldn't wear it with some legging pants on a night out. These "flowy" blouses are best when made with a sheer crepe georgette or a solid silk crepe de chine or charmeuse.  They need to be made from a soft material to get the desired effect. These are the chic tops for the season.

Available in sizes AX5 (4-12) and DD (12-18)

 M6331 Romper and Sundress

This romper and sundress has a fold back front and a pleated skirt with scalloped hem. Bust alteration lines are printed on tissue. View C has bra cups in A/B, C, and D sizes.
Available in sizes AX5 (4-12) and DD (12-18)

Above, Melissa models the dress for an online story in SewStylish Magazine. Read the story here:

M6433 Misses' Dress in Three Lengths

Melissa's newest dress has a fitted, lined bodice, front and back darts, stitched shoulder pleats, back zipper and self lined cap sleeve. View A-B has an A-line skirt with stitched pleats. View C has a straight skirt with back slit. The dress is designed for lightweight woven fabrics. Dress View C can also be made with a stable knit.

Available in sizes AX5 (4-12) and DD (12-18)

Reg. price is $18.95

M6405 Misses' Slim Fit Pant and Jean

This is a modern fitted slim pant and jean, but not so slim around the lower leg to be confused with the “Jegging”. The straight leg of the jean is most flattering on any body and works with any professional or casual outfit. The view with the wide band, the shorter length, and zipper at the back ankle gives a very tailored and clean look from day to night. The design would mold best in  stretch denim, stretch wool, or any woven with a little give. With the center back seam coming up through the contour waistband, fitting is easier. The model on the right is wearing Melissa's "IT" Jacket design M6294 (see below).

Available in sizes AAX (4-10) and C5 (10-18)

M6294 The "IT" Jacket in Three Lengths

The many seamlines make this a great jacket for fit as well as creativity. It is a jacket that will add an edge to your current wardrobe. It comes in an edgy short length, above the hip length, and the longer "boyfriend jacket" length. It has flattering side panels for a more shaped look, a V-shaped back yoke, two-piece self-faced lapels with collar band, sleeves in two lengths with elbow dart, hook and eye closure. Views B and C have patch pockets. The pattern includes an optional lining. Make it in leather, faux leather or suede, wool gabardine, linen, or a double-knit. Try a stripe if you want the lapel to be really interesting. You could also use this design for color blocking. Alteration lines are printed on the tissue for the most common alterations. Altering instructions are in the guidesheet.

Available in sizes AX5 (4-12) and DD (12-18)

Reg. price is $18.95
Our price is $10.95
