Palmer/Pletsch Connecticut Sewing School

Pamela Leggett has been teaching sewing since 1981. Specializing in pattern fitting, knit sewing and fine garment skills, she has developed a fun and informative teaching style that is now available in her patterns, instructional DVD's and now at the Palmer/Pletsch Connecticut Sewing School.

One of Pamela's passions is creating garments that flatter and fit the wearer. Her desire to teach others to achieve the perfect fit led her to the Palmer/Pletsch pattern fitting method, which she has used to help hundreds of women successfully achieve good fit and a renewed love of garment sewing. It is with this knowledge that she created Pamela's Patterns, which have many fitting solutions and adjustments built-in to the patterns.

Pamela's Patterns have been reviewed and featured in magazines and on-line review sites. Pamela is a contributing writer, book author and DVD personality for Threads Magazine, an instructor for Craftsy online classes, director of the Palmer/Pletsch Philadelphia and Connecticut Sewing Workshops and a national sewing/serging educator. She has also appeared on PBS’s Sewing With Nancy and Canada’s The Shopping Channel.

Pamela lives in Connecticut and has a teaching studio in Vernon CT, near Hartford, Connecticut.

Pamela’s Patterns Fashion Sewing & Fitting Studio is located in beautiful Vernon, Connecticut. Testimonials for the Connecticut location

"This class and being in Pamela's studio wholly focused on learning for four days was just what I needed in my life right now. I knew it was going to be great and I would learn a lot, but I didn't expect to have my mind blown and really just be in complete awe of Pamela's professionalism and expertise. She made sure that everyone got the attention that they needed. There was never a moment of frustration. She would answer the same question multiple times. She would demonstrate many techniques. Also, I must admit, I am now a convert. The Palmer/Pletsch method has changed my view on garment sewing. It no longer feels so daunting. This is something I can do and refine with practice. I am so eager to continue!"

SEWING WORKSHOP: FIT SEWING PATTERNS 4-DAY – Connecticut — November 8-11, 2018

Because we do hands-on fitting, we continue to be innovative and fine-tune our skills. We’ve examined and used many approaches to fitting over the years. Today we teach what works the best and easiest for YOU! We do very little measuring because measuring does not tell you all you need to know about the body you are fitting. Learning to tissue-fit patterns is a process. We fit you, then teach you to fit yourself! The first day we will give…
