Hundreds of students from around the world have attended our sewing workshops. Like a sewing vacation, you’ll share camaraderie with other sewers from all walks of life from surgeons to CEOs to fabric store owners, homemakers, dressmakers, attorneys, farmers, and teachers while you are taught expert sewing techniques and the tissue-fitting method of pattern fitting.
You will be guided by the qualified Palmer/Pletsch sewing teaching team. We have been teaching sewing and fitting sewing patterns for over 35 years, focusing on quality garments sewn with limited time. We have worked with and influenced major pattern companies, bringing our message to you along with our fashion sewing books and Learn How to Sew DVDs. We want to PERSONALLY share our sewing knowledge with you in these workshops. AND, we learn from you as well, hopefully making us better teachers. Workshops are taught in five locations across the United States.
Portland area workshops are taught by Helen Bartley and, for some topics, Pati Palmer. They are held in various locations in Portland, Oregon, and nearby Vancouver, Washington, depending on the topic.
These workshops are taught by Palmer/Pletsch Certified Sewing Instructor Nancy Seifert and are held at Makers Hideaway Retreat Center in Stanwood, Washington.
Michigan workshops are taught by Palmer/Pletsch Certified Sewing Instructor Janet Dapson in her fabric store, Fabrications Fabric Warehouse.
Connecticut workshops are taught by Palmer/Pletsch Certified Sewing Instructor Pamela Leggett. They are held in beautiful Vernon, Connecticut at Pamela’s Patterns Fashion Sewing & Fitting Studio.
COVID-19 PROTOCOL: Workshops in Portland, the Seattle area, Connecticut, and Philadelphia require attendees to provide proof of a COVID vaccination.
The situation can change. Check in with your instructor about any additional requirements, such as masking or the need for negative PCR covid tests.
