Fit and Sew a Classic Shirt

Perfect the fit of your shirt pattern that you can reinvent again and again. Sew it together beautifully choosing from a menu of both classic and time-saving techniques. Helen will help you master the shirt band, stand, collar, plackets and cuffs. You’ll leave with a completed garment and a pattern fitted perfectly to you.

Prerequisite: Palmer/Pletsch 2- or 4-day Fit workshop

You may choose to use any of the patterns shown above.

The workshop includes our Palmer/Pletsch classic shirt pattern Butterick 6852 and lunches.

Helen Bartley is a lifelong student of sewing, and her empathetic teaching style is all the better for it. A Palmer/Pletsch Certified Sewing Instructor and corporate educator, Helen teaches the workshops in Portland/Vancouver. Helen is also the author of Fit and Sew Custom Jeans and served as technical editor for the Palmer/Pletsch book Knits for Real People and as contributor, garment sewer and model for that book and the highly regarded The Palmer/Pletsch Complete Guide to Fitting.
